Full-time Floating Substitute
Waldorf School of Lexington (WSL), now in its 53rd school year, seeks a full-time Floating Substitute Teacher for the 2023-24 academic year. Candidates for this benefited position will have a strong desire to work as part of a team in a dynamic school committed to inspiring creative thinkers and discovering a unique connection to learning. The hours for this 10 month, salaried position are 7:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities for this position include:
- Substitute teaching in Early Childhood and Grades 1-8
- Substitute teaching in our Nursery & Kindergarten Aftercare Programs
- Lunch and Recess Duties
- Support for all teaching staff
- Main Office and administrative duties, including answering phones and greeting visitors
- Assisting in the school kitchen
Education/Experience Requirements
- The ideal candidate will have experience as a substitute teacher with students ages 3–14 and must demonstrate skill, confidence, and expertise in working with students.
- A Bachelor's degree is preferred. Work experience commensurate with a degree will be considered.
- Waldorf training and teaching experience are a plus.

Setting
WSL is situated 12 miles west of Boston in historic Lexington, Massachusetts—an area rich with culture, historical significance, and natural beauty. Abutting our campus is a 185-acre nature preserve that features a sports field, several play gardens, a vegetable garden, and beehives.

WSL provides an arts-integrated academic education. We offer a curriculum rich in the humanities and sciences as well as practical and fine arts, grounded in the pedagogical principles and methods of Rudolf Steiner. WSL serves nearly 200 students from preschool through grade 8.
