The Asheville Waldorf School is seeking an Early Childhood Kindergarten Assistant Teacher for the 2023/2024 school year. Join our vibrant, growing community nestled in the mountains of Western North Carolina. The Asheville Waldorf School is 12 years old. It is a member of the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America (WECAN) and an associate member of the Association of the Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA), serving children from Parent-Child classes through Eighth grade.

The Early Childhood Kindergarten Assistant’s primary focus is to support the Lead Kindergarten teacher in their work and help maintain the class environment while caring for the children. The assistant helps to create a warm, supportive atmosphere, prepare meals, and care for the physical space of the classroom, consistent with Waldorf Early Childhood Education methods and practices.

Asheville, North Carolina

Asheville is an ideal place to live, well known and visited for its beautiful outdoors (it is surrounded by three mountainous National Forests), its abundance of activity options that come with the landscape and ecosystem, and its rich arts, crafts, and music culture. Asheville’s many restaurants and microbreweries make it a highly sought out tourist destination. Local, sustainable agriculture is also a hallmark of this town, which supports seventeen farmers’ markets for less than 100,000 residents. If you like to eat local, organic food, participate in public music events (like community chorus), and be surrounded by art, it’s a great place to be.
