First Grade Teacher
First Grade Teacher (for 2024-25)
Aurora Waldorf School is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of First Grade Teacher. This position depends on enrollment and is planned to commence on July 1, 2024. The teacher is expected to stay with the students for multiple years, moving through the grades. They may be required to teach combined grades depending on future enrollment.
The hours will be 7:45 a.m.–3:15 p.m., Monday through Friday, with occasional weeknight or weekend work for parent meetings and school activities. There are also weekly meetings that currently end at 4:30 and twice-yearly workdays. Faculty workdays are at the end of August and mid-June. School begins in September and ends in June.
The ideal candidate will have a Waldorf Teacher Training certificate, experience as a lead classroom teacher, preferably in a Waldorf school, a Master’s Degree in a subject area, or equivalent professional experience and CPR/First Aid certification.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree and must be able to demonstrate the ability to teach to a variety of grades and skill levels. More details will be shared with candidates in the interview process.

This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits, including partial tuition remission and health benefits.
Starting annual salary is $31,000
Interviews will begin in January 2024.
