It is an exciting time at the Santa Cruz Waldorf School (SCWS). After successfully developing a rhythm around the unprecedented circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, we look forward to the opportunities that the academic year 2022/2023 brings. We are seeking a Movement Teacher to join our faculty at the beginning of the 2022-23 school year.

The Movement Teacher will be responsible for teaching grades 1 through 8.

Our new colleague will have a deep understanding of child development based on the philosophy of Waldorf education, the Movement teacher will also be trained in Spacial Dynamics and/or Bothmer Gymnastics. The colleague will be adept at developing creative, lively, interactive Movement lessons that encourage enthusiastic participation, skill-building, develop self-esteem and social responsibility. Also required will be a commitment to ongoing self-development.

The Movement teacher will be responsible for approximately 16 periods per week (2 per grade). This is a full-time position that also includes attending faculty meetings and substituting for other colleagues when needed. The Movement teacher will also play a big role in organizing festivals and school-wide events.
