Job Summary

As the Forest School Principal you contribute to a new way of education, leading a team of inspired educators. Meet the academic needs of our students in multi-disciplinary, hands-on outdoor environments. Center our school through community and connection to nature. Guide our team and students to embark on inspiring adventures for learning. Work with the Forest School Director and Leadership to create a learning community founded on in-depth awareness, animal tracking, and nature connection.

Forest School serves K-8 students, teaching and guiding kids outdoors. We seek to empower youth to take charge of their own learning. We aim to exceed academic standards by forging competency and critical thinking. Our mission: connect kids to community, nature, and many generations beyond us.

As the Forest School Principal, help design leading-edge program content. Collaborate on curriculum and essential resources to train and mentor youth. Lead a seasoned, dedicated, and expert team. Help teachers maximize their learning potential
Lead and guide students to success; managing disciplinary issues and showcasing their wins
Be a mentor, and remember what it’s like to be a kid
Ensure academic policies and curriculum are followed
Develop and track benchmarks for measuring success
Meet and listen to concerns of students and parents on a regular basis
Anticipate and exceed the expectations of Trackers Earth students and families
Provide an atmosphere free of any bias in which students can achieve their maximum potential
Communicate with guardians to celebrate successes and facilitate problem solving
Inspire, motivate, and energize youth and families by offering in-depth quality in programming 
Reinforce Forest School culture, focusing on can-do attitude and positive, solutions-based collaboration.
Thoughtfully follow and enforce all Trackers policies and procedures for safety and quality
Be responsible for administering risk management and governance frameworks
Communicate and document in all matters of safety, quality, operations, staffing, and culture on a daily basis
Manage school logistics and budget
Monitor and report on teacher performance
Recruit, interview, and hire teaching personnel
Organize school events, fundraisers, and school assemblies 
Willingness to develop your own skills that apply to Forest School culture and goals


Completed Vaccinations for COVID-19 (verification required)
A Master’s degree in education or equivalent experience in the workplace
4+ years of working experience as an educator, school leader, or principal
Communication skills to facilitate a productive educational experience for both teachers and students
Problem-solving skills to enhance teacher performance and improve student grades
Valid driver's license
Grit, becoming more calm, creative, and proactive when challenged
Ability to model professionalism while supporting students, families, and colleagues
