Preschool and Kindergarten Lead Teachers
Potomac Crescent Waldorf School is seeking lead teachers for Preschool and Mixed Age Kindergarten classes for the 2022-2023 school year. We have three- and five-day opportunities.
We are a vibrant Waldorf school in historic Old Town Alexandria. While we have been in Northern Virginia for over 20 years, we are moving into our newly renovated long-term location and are excited to start a new chapter in our school’s history with expanded program offerings. The parks in our neighborhood have a view of Washington, D.C., across the river.
Our early childhood teachers are a strong part of our faculty circle and participate in weekly full faculty meetings and early childhood meetings. We value pedagogical study and discussion in both groups. We support teacher mentoring and Waldorf conference and professional development opportunities as much as possible.
Ideal candidates will have a confident classroom presence with strong social and communication skills, the ability to work cooperatively with other teachers, and a love for children and teaching. We are seeking candidates who have completed Waldorf Early Childhood training at a WECAN-accredited teacher preparation program or are enrolled in a WECAN-accredited teacher preparation program and are receptive to mentoring.
We look forward to receiving your application! The full position descriptions and employment application can be found on our school website, www.PotomacWaldorf.org.
