Upon hiring, the PD will work immediately with the founding board and School Director to recruit faculty, craft the curriculum and create a program of professional development, ensuring that all aspects of the school are consistent with our Mission and in compliance with the school’s charter. In keeping with our Mission to “... celebrate diversity, embrace equity, and cultivate inclusion…”, Desert Sage School intends to hire teachers with diverse teaching backgrounds-- some of whom will be embarking on their Waldorf training in the summer prior to school opening. Therefore, the PD must possess both a strong foundation in Waldorf pedagogy and an enthusiasm for guiding and educating developing Waldorf teachers. As Desert Sage is a new school, the PD will be flexible in their duties as responsibilities shift and grow.
