Acorn Hill Waldorf Kindergarten and Nursery is a well-established, 57-year-old school dedicated to early childhood education located in Silver Spring, Maryland just outside of Washington, DC. We are a Waldorf school and a member of the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America (WECAN). We are nestled in a secluded wooded area on a six-acre site. Our beautiful campus includes playgrounds, forest trails, and gardens. We are a certified kindergarten and nursery licensed by the Maryland State Board of Education and a ChildCare Center licensed by the Office of Child Care, division of Maryland State Department of Education.

Acorn Hill commits to making our school a place where families, faculty and staff of diverse backgrounds feel welcomed and expressly valued. Our faculty and staff strive to bring students to an understanding and experience of the common humanity of all the world’s people–transcending stereotypes, prejudices, and divisive barriers. We undertake the work necessary to prepare our children and ourselves for the challenges and joys of life in a diverse society.

All employees must meet Maryland State and Montgomery County licensing requirements, which includes passing a background check, including fingerprinting, and having the legal right to work in the United States.
