Love where you work! The Waldorf School of Princeton sits on 20 acres of beautifully tended campus, including access to a creek, forest walks, and carefully tended gardens. The campus is within easy reach of the thriving village center of Hopewell and the college town of Princeton. Further afield, New York City, Philadelphia and the Jersey Shore provide endless entertainment at weekends.

An Associate Member of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America, the Waldorf School of Princeton is committed to providing a rich Waldorf education to all its students, from pre-K through 8th grade. In 2021, the school committed to a nine-year plan to build our school into a beacon for the local community, with a team of dedicated, well-supported, excellent educators at its heart. We are excited to welcome new members of our team to help us on this journey.

Joining the Waldorf School of Princeton, you will find yourself among kindred spirits. Our faculty and staff form a supportive group, working together for the children in our care, encouraging one another to do their best work, and extending grace when we struggle.

Teachers who are not familiar with Waldorf education will be supported through the training and professional development needed to deliver our carefully crafted curriculum that meets the developmental needs of each child.

The Waldorf School of Princeton is searching for a lower grades class teacher for the 2022/23 school year.

Waldorf Teachers have the opportunity to serve the individuality of their students and create their own lesson plans within the curriculum. The Waldorf curriculum has existed for over 100 years and is grounded in child development so it meets the needs, both academically and socially, of the children and serves as a guide and support to them as they mature. If you are a person who is interested in how to incorporate music, art, and movement into your lessons, the experience of teaching at our school can be equally rich for both teacher and student.

Our school is all in-person and was open throughout 2020-21 with no in-school transmissions of Covid-19. Each grade has a classroom under a tent with handmade furniture and a beautiful indoor classroom meeting safety guidelines.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree and have classroom experience with younger students. Ideal candidates have a Waldorf teaching certification or are in their teacher training presently. A person who is newer to Waldorf Education must be ready to begin training immediately and have a willingness to learn the methods and philosophy that make Waldorf a unique education. Mentoring and professional development will be provided.

We are particularly interested in receiving applications from candidates with life experiences less well-represented in the independent school sector.

Our teaching salary scale for 2022-23 ranges from $46,800 to $80,000 depending on experience, and skills offered. We provide means-tested tuition remission of up to 90%, and a generous package of benefits.
