Running River School

Sedona, AZ, USA

Full time

Kindergarten and Early Childhood

May 10

Our school is an independent, non-profit school in the heart of Sedona, AZ serving Grades 1-8. We believe in the holistic wellness of our children and have continued with in-person, mask-free schooling through the pandemic. During these times we believe it is crucial to continue to create a sanctuary for our children in this world, and to build a strong, interconnected community around them so that they can grow to fulfill their destinies and become the future caretakers of our planet.

We are calling in two passionate, warm, and talented Waldorf-trained (preferred but teaching experience also considered) teachers to lead in the 2022/2023 school year, with a June start (we pay through the summer; school starts early August) for two beautiful classes.

We are hiring for two classes (a rising 2nd grade and rising 5th grade). Both classes are well-formed classes who love to learn and give so much care, presence and love to their teachers.

Sedona is a profoundly powerful place, with stunning landscape and a beautiful series of trail-systems and creeks on our doorstep. If you are interested in inspiring our children to continue growing into the future leaders and change-makers please reach out.

Here’s what this incredible opportunity offers:

o In-person, mask-free learning during these important times

o Teaching in the heart of a sacred, and beautiful place with stunning landscape

o Intimate class sizes with an excellent student-teacher ratio (12-14 on average)

o Curriculum resources & support from trained lead teachers + admin who have spent time in the classroom

o Competitive AZ wage & healthcare stipend

o Healthy daily rhythm and planning time

o A conscious, compassionate community of grateful and supportive parents

o Supportive, connected, heart-centered, and collaborative faculty, administration, and school community

o A school with Waldorf-trained leadership, strong roots in Anthroposophy, and a strong school spirit

o Monthly teacher-led, all-day hikes in the stunning surrounding area (general physical fitness and stamina needed for normal hiking)

o Independent and non-profit school that can remain true to the full Waldorf curriculum (we also offer scholarships to remain accessible)

Here’s what we’re looking for:

o A creative, warm and inspiring leader who honors every child’s worth

o Someone with an ability to make children feel ‘seen'

o A dedicated, positive, and proactive individual who embodies what they teach

o Artistic talents/potential (across multiple mediums)

o Lead teaching experience and ability to hold healthy form with both warmth and expectation

o Someone with excellent classroom management skills who also creates a fun and enriching learning environment

o Knowledge and experience in delivering a Waldorf curriculum (and/or a deep resonance with it; as a school we have helped train less experienced individuals with the methodology and philosophy in their heart.)

oSomeone with passion and care for our future generation (and their future purpose/tasks)

We hope that you're the person these beautiful future leaders are calling in!
