High School Humanities Teacher
This is a 1 FTE exempt faculty position.

San Francisco Waldorf High School seeks an enthusiastic and experienced Humanities Teacher with a background in history and social science and the ability to teach Anti-racism, Latin American Cultural Studies, Studies of the Pacific Rim, Ancient Civilizations, Literature and/or Current Events, depending on the candidate’s strengths.
Our ideal candidate is comfortable teaching all high school grade levels (9-12), excels at teaching to a wide range of student abilities, is highly organized and has sound classroom management.
We are looking for someone who wants to join a Waldorf faculty and work in a highly collaborative environment. We are interested to learn what ideas the candidate might like to bring to the high school curriculum. Waldorf teacher training is preferred, but a strong candidate need only bring the willingness to learn about our approach and attend a training program within the first two years of employment.

San Francisco Waldorf School (SFWS) was founded in 1979 and serves more than 450 students across a parent-child program, a nursery program, kindergarten, and the first through twelfth grades. The high school campus is in the West Portal neighborhood.
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Graduate degree preferrable
- Waldorf Teacher Training completed or in progress or willingness to begin a Waldorf Teacher Training program by the second year of employment with SFWS.
- Significant high school teaching and/or experience working with adolescents
Benefits and Compensation:
This is a 1 FTE position. Benefits include medical, dental, flexible spending plans, retirement plan (employer contributions after one year), and tuition remission for eligible dependents. Salaries are paid on a 12-month schedule.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Be able to occasionally lift to 30 lbs.
- Work intermittently in outside weather conditions, including heat and cold
- Regularly sitting or standing 4-8 hours
