Kindergarten Teacher for 2022-2023 School Year
Spirit of the Lake Community School is excited to announce an open position for a Kindergarten Teacher for the 2022-23 school year.
This class will serve children ages 5 and 6 with the integration of local, nature based opportunities. We are looking for a teacher who is excited and enthusiastic about developing a warm and creative school environment and community.
The ideal candidate would possess the following: ● Experience working in an early childhood environment and an understanding of child development ● A contemplative or meditative practice. ● A compelling, critical communicator. ● Enjoy artistic, holistic enrichment of indoor and outdoor spaces. ● Have an interest in and knowledge of a wide range of alternative pedagogies. ● Confidence and personal initiative in class management and curriculum development. ● A deep reverence for the fleeting magic of early childhood. ● Be passionate about bringing their own love of nature to their class ● Foster an equitable and loving environment for the children Expectations and Responsibilities: ● Support the unfolding of the individual child and nurture development through the rhythms of the classroom. ● Observe and care for the class while planning and leading activities that are grounded in seasonal rhythms and the principles of holistic education. ● Working with and supervising a class assistant teacher. ● Leading parent-teacher conferences and parent education evenings. ● Full participation in faculty meetings. ● Planning and leading festivals for the community. ● Compassionate family communication. ● Stewarding the classroom and outdoor spaces. ● Continuing education relative to child care licensing (CPR/First Aid, etc).

This is a full-time position with a base salary of $32,000 plus incrementals for teacher training certification and experience.
