Interim Admissions Manager


Waldorf Academy is an innovative independent school and childcare downtown Toronto offering a Waldorf education from 18 months to grade 8.


The Interim Admissions Manager is the first point of contact representing the school to prospective families. The ideal candidate possesses ‘connect-ability’ with parents, students, faculty and the greater community and can spark the right inquiry, build mission- fit relationships, create the right connections, and let the magic happen. They are responsible for the admissions funnel: inquiries, visits/tours, applications, screenings, acceptances, enrollment, and matriculation. The ideal candidate will accurately communicate the Waldorf educational program, analyze and evaluate student applications, coordinate interviews, contracts and student record keeping. The ideal candidate will possess experience in the independent school market and have a passion for education and learning.



●     Co-create with the School Director a collaborative strategic enrolment plan.

●     Create and manage outreach events, in-person and virtual tours.

●     Ensure DEIJ principles and actions are a part of the Admissions funnel.

●     Assess and process applications in consultation with appropriate departments.

●     Communicate admissions decisions.

●     Maintain and update all new and existing student information and files.

●     A parent retention and education plan (internal marketing).

●     Ensure all student files are in accordance with Government regulations.

●     Work closely with other departments to keep close communication between them and the admissions office.

●     Produce admission data and reports for other departments and management, historical and prospective.

●     Liaise with various faculty with regard to specific admissions-related matters such as interview guidelines, family visits, tour preparations, and class capacities.

●     Maintain a thorough knowledge of the school’s admissions policy, OHRC and Government regulations.

●     Update website with admissions events, tours, and programs.

●     Oversee collateral marketing material.

●     Edit the school newsletter (3-4 times a year).

●     Update and curate articles for the School Blog.

●     Support high school transition; knowledge of high school requirements.

●     Collaborate with marketing to support brand and messaging.

●     Other duties as assigned.


Position Requirements

Education and Experience:

• Post-secondary education is required.

• 2 years of related experience working in education is required.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills.

• Strong communication skills in all forms including written and oral.

• Exceptional computer skills;  experience in Microsoft Office applications, comfort with various tech platforms ie Calendly, MailChimp, WordPress, and database experience.

• Excellent planning, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.

• Attention to detail and great flexibility.

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with many deadlines.

• Experience in an academic setting.

• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.

• Passion for the Waldorf mission

• Committed to continuous learning and collaboration



Start Date: Immediate


Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000 per year

This is an interim position for one year with the opportunity to become permanent.
