City of Lakes Waldorf School is currently accepting applications for a full-time Admissions Director. This essential, outward-facing role brings our school and mission to prospective parents, from the initial point of inquiry through to acceptance, enrollment, and re-enrollment. The Admissions Director develops outreach initiatives and cultivates relationships with prospective families who express interest in the school, informing them of the school’s curriculum, program, and culture and guiding them through the school’s admissions processes. This onsite, full-time position has an immediate expected start date and offers full benefits with a salary that is commensurate with experience.

Qualifications and Benefits: Ideal candidates will have experience working in a Waldorf or independent school admissions office and demonstrate strong interpersonal communications skills and a commitment to advancing the work of diversity, equity, inclusion and justice. Candidates will have excellent project management and planning skills, the ability to speak and write clearly, and bring attention to detail. Our School and Community

City of Lakes Waldorf School is an accredited school of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America and the Independent Schools Association of the Central States and a full member of the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America. We offer a Toddler through Grade 8 education for over 290 students on our two campuses. City of Lakes Waldorf School is dedicated to being a welcoming and affirming institution to all members of our school and wider community. To this end, we are working in the critical areas of increasing capacities for anti-racism and overcoming implicit bias, expanding full representation of our diverse community in the curriculum, and regularly examining our school policies, procedures and practices for changes and improvements.

Our grade school curriculum  includes Spanish, Cyber Civics, Movement and Games, Handwork, Woodwork, Circus Arts, and Music (recorder, strings, and choir) and an after school sports program. Our parent/child program introduces young families to Waldorf education. Our experienced and creative faculty, led by the College of Teachers, is dedicated to excellence in Waldorf education and the development of curriculum to reflect our diverse, metropolitan community. Our educational pedagogy fundamentally values the many peoples and perspectives of our community and the world. CLWS strives to advance equity in education and nurture a diverse learning community of children, teachers, families and staff; recognizing and valuing individual differences while promoting and celebrating the richness in our local and global communities. Our Board of Trustees along with our talented and dedicated parent community support our more than 70 full and part time members of the faculty and administrative staff.

Our Whittier Campus is located in a beautiful stone building (circa 1922) in a lively urban neighborhood just blocks from downtown Minneapolis. The school resides on what is known as “Eat Street” – home to a large number of restaurants featuring cuisines from around the world. We are within walking distance to the Minneapolis Institute of Arts and have convenient access to the cultural features of the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area, including nationally acclaimed symphony and chamber orchestras, theaters, and museums. Our Loring Campus is one mile away and situated on Loring Park directly across from the Walker Art Center and Minneapolis Sculpture Garden.  

Minneapolis is a beautiful city encompassing lakes, rivers and creeks and containing an extensive selection of parks for walking, biking and opportunities for a myriad of outdoor activities in all seasons. Our school enjoys an association with the Waldorf School in St. Paul, a chapter of the Anthroposophical Society, a Camphill Village, and several community farms.
