The Corvallis Waldorf School is seeking a colleague who loves to work with students in small group and one-on-one settings to support their development and progress through the curriculum. The successful candidate will work closely with the Grades teachers to identify and support students in need of additional time and resources. Candidates will demonstrate experience teaching elementary school age children, be capable of creating individualized Student Success Plans, and become familiar with Section 504 plans and Individual Service Plans (ISPs) as we coordinate with our public school colleagues to provide accommodations and speech services for our students. Knowledge of Waldorf Education and Waldorf teacher certification is preferred. Experience with curriculum development, differentiated instruction, student assessment, and remediation is important. Knowledge of games, movement activities, songs, and stories to inspire children is important. We seek colleagues who share the goals of Waldorf Education and who are dedicated to the healthy development of each child. Ideal candidates will have a passion for Waldorf education, experience in elementary education, an understanding of working with parents, and the personal development and self-reflection to be able to work well in a collegial setting.
This is a part-time, hourly position with competitive pay. Teacher will be responsible for developing age-appropriate curriculum using Waldorf teaching practices, creating written progress and end of year reports for all students and working with class teacher to meet the needs of individual students.
Qualifications and Benefits:
We prefer candidates with a college degree, a commitment to Waldorf education and proven capacities for teaching. Waldorf teaching training is required for Early Childhood positions and strongly preferred for Grades and Specialty positions. Additional qualifications are:
Prior teaching experience to elementary grades
Ability to use stories, movement, songs and games in teaching
