Paid Apprenticeship: URBAN FARM Elementary Educator for a vibrant homeschool consortium
Paid Apprenticeship: Elementary Educator for The Ecology Center’s Farm Raised program: modeling the ethos of a one-room schoolhouse and serving a community of homeschooling children. Located just minutes from the best beaches on the West Coast! We are a Regenerative Organic Certified™ farm and ecological nonprofit in sunny San Juan Capistrano, California. The Ecology Center is committed to raising the next generation of educators, farmers, chefs, and system changemakers to lead our culture toward a future of sustainable abundance. The Farm Raised apprentice will work and study under the direction of our Waldorf-inspired Education Team, and will teach alongside a village of educators, farmers, surfers, makers and chefs.
The Ecology Center seeks to provide a blueprint for living abundantly on planet Earth through a variety of nourishment offerings, creative programming, and cultural outreach. We believe that our education programs hold the greatest potential for investment in a healthy future. By engaging the next generation to explore how it looks, tastes, and feels when humans live in harmony with nature and one another, our education programs maximize the impact of our organization to transcend the challenges of our time and manifest a widespread cultural transformation.
Over the past 13 years of our organization’s history, we have built our farm into a living classroom for tomorrow’s ecological leaders. By engaging our community’s youth in dynamic experiences with nature, we create a space for collaboration, creative problem solving, and mentorship in the skills and values that cultivate a healthy food culture. We are driving a profound and lasting change in our community’s relationship between food and agriculture.
