Early Childhood Assistant
Early Childhood Assistants Portland Waldorf School is welcoming applications for a PT Early Childhood Assistant. This position is an integral part of the school’s Early Childhood Program which offers a secure, healthy, and nurturing environment for children with weekly and seasonal rhythms that include circle time, story, creative and active play, and nourishment.
Our teachers and staff members work enthusiastically and energetically to engage their students and are dedicated to Waldorf education. They work collaboratively with their colleagues and the parent community to create an educational environment that is aligned with the school mission and program goals.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with young children, demonstrate a familiarity with the philosophy and methods of Waldorf Early Childhood education. Waldorf Teacher Training is a plus.
Qualities and Skills Expected:
- Experience in a Waldorf Early Childhood classroom
- Ability to engage with children, taking directions from the Lead Teacher regarding classroom management, conflict resolution, communication, and day to day responsibilities.
- Good communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, well-organized, and efficient
- Required to follow state laws and regulations for Child Care certification.
Hours: 11am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday
Portland Waldorf School was founded in 1982 and is fully accredited through AWSNA. We serve students in Early Childhood through 12th grade on a beautiful seven-acre campus. We offer a full Waldorf curriculum, as well as a middle and high school athletics program.
