Sparrow Academy is seeking a Handwork Assistant to support the Handwork Specialist while she teaches knitting, crochet, embroidery, sewing, and other handcrafts to our 1st-8th grade students in the 2021-22 school year. The position is part time.

The Handwork Assistant at Sparrow will be expected to:

• ● Assist the Handwork Specialist with all handwork crafts from a foundation of Waldorf
• philosophy
• ● Help prepare materials for all classes 1st-8th
• ● Effectively support a class of 28-30 students with their handwork crafts
• ● Mend and correct mistakes
• ● Participate in collaborative meetings as needed
• Requirements:
• ● Experience and proficiency in hand work crafts, including knitting, crochet, embroidery,
• and sewing
• ● Excellent communication skills
• ● Enjoy working with children
• ● Highly organized, efficient and proactive
