Teaching Assistant for the 2022-23 School Year
Are you passionate about working with children, looking to explore the teaching profession, or simply wanting a part-time job where your work makes a real difference? We are seeking a qualified individual to join our staff as a teaching assistant in our middle school program. This position supports the teacher with daily classroom activities and assists students needing extra help.
Our ideal candidate has strong communication skills, an understanding of child development, and is open to learning about Waldorf methodology. Applicants should be prepared to work in a physically active and dynamic learning environment, so adaptability and a willingness to take guidance from a lead teacher in working with and supervising children are key. Curiosity, patience, and an appreciation for adolescent humor are also a must. Sound fun and challenging? It is!
This position is for 20 to 25 hours per week, with a schedule as follows:
Mon: 8am to 3:15pm
Tues: 8am to 11:45am
Wed: 8am to 11am
Thur: 8am to 10:45am
Fri: 8am-1pm
(Some additional afternoon hours may be available in our afterschool program.)
Our school offers a full Waldorf curriculum for 1st through 8th grade, a licensed child care center with three preschools and two Kindergartens, and an after school program. We have a dedicated, creative, and experienced faculty. Our parents are invested in their children's education and in the school, bringing great enthusiasm and energy to any project. We are accredited by and a full member school of AWSNA [Association of Waldorf Schools of North America] and WECAN [Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America].
We are also always adding to our on-call substitute list. After this position is filled, we may offer part-time/on-call hours in the morning and afternoon.

Pay: $16 - $18 per hour, depending on experience
Ability to commute to Davis, CA 95616
