Overview: Marin Waldorf School is seeking an experienced bookkeeper to support the Business Office.
We are looking for a talented individual who loves children and can work with colleagues in a
collaborative manner.
Applicants should demonstrate:
- A working knowledge of common accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and payroll processes

Marin Waldorf School serves approximately 220 students and includes a thriving parent/toddler
program, an early childhood program (preschool and kindergarten), and a full grades program (grades 1-
8). Our 10-acre campus includes a beautiful oak grove, a biodynamic garden and outdoor play areas for
preschool, kindergarten and the grades. Our expanded curriculum includes physical education,
gardening, woodwork, handwork, music, eurythmy, Spanish and Mandarin.

The Bookkeeper will report to the Director of Finance and Operations. This position is approximately 12
- 16 hours a week, during normal business hours and is a non-exempt position.
The Bookkeeper will handle most of the day-to-day transactions processing as well as the posting and
reconciliation of such transactions in the general ledger. This is a wonderful opportunity for a
bookkeeping professional to support the mission of our school.
Role Responsibilities:
- AP/AR/GL duties:
- Enter bills for payment processing
- Enter employee expense receipts for payment processing
- Prepare checks
- Prepare and post bank deposits
- Post and reconcile credit card transactions
- Generate tuition invoices
- Prepare monthly financial statements
- Bank statement reconciliations
- Journal entries
- Monthly financial reports
- Subsidiary ledgers
- Complete Annual Filings
- Quarterly 941’s
- Annual 1099’s
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Expertise in accounting policies and procedures
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, Word, Google Workspace
- Customer service oriented with the interpersonal skills to communicate with faculty, staff and
- parents effectively and collaboratively
- Background check and TB clearance
- BS in accounting or similar equivalent degree
- Previous experience working in a school or non-profit organization preferred
- Experience with HR a plus
