The Village Extended Care is looking for individuals passionate about helping children thrive while engaging them in play and building strong community relationships. We are looking for creative, fun loving people to join us and stay through the school year. PROGRAM OVERVIEW: As a Waldorf school we focus on creating an atmosphere where children can socialize, prosper, learn and enjoy themselves. JOB SUMMARY: During the school day we have the opportunity to work closely with the school and teachers by providing meal monitoring for grades 1st - 8th. Great for people looking to get experience working in the school setting.
The Extended Program starts when school is released and ends at 6pm. Teachers are responsible for the direct care and supervision of youth in PVS after school program. This provides a diverse range of ours for our employees. This position provides an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, social and emotional development of students in a Waldorf based extended care.
Classroom Instruction: With support from a team, there is opportunities to plan and implement Waldorf based curriculum and games
Classroom Management: Monitor youth and afterschool spaces to ensure safe participation.
Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively and communicate courteously and effectively with the teaching team, parents, students and the public.
Professional Development: Paid hours for any needed childcare trainings for on boarding and annually, boost your ORO profile with training and childcare hours, and experience supervising/working with students in a school setting.
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Minimum 18 years of age. (Required for Teacher & Head Teacher only)
- Ability to successfully enroll in the Oregon Central Background Registry (Required)
- At least 1 year experience working with elementary school age children, ages 5 to 12; qualifying education, or a combination of experience and qualifying education.
- Ability to work with passion, energy and enthusiasm; communicate clearly and positively with children and adults; work under pressure in fast-pace environments; supervise youth ages 5-12
