Middle and High School Music Teacher
Waldorf School of the Peninsula is seeking a Middle and High School Music Teacher who can nurture community, aptitude, and a love of music within our students. This Teacher views each child as an individual; working to grow and bring out the best in every child and support the student’s own realization of their musical potential.
At the Waldorf School of the Peninsula every student, starting in the 3rd grade participates in the music program. By Middle and High School all students participate in Music ensembles. Our goal is to find a teacher looking for a long-term commitment in education as part of their musical professional life.
This part-time, hourly position includes teaching all or some of the following classes: Middle School Band, High School Jazz Band, and High School Handbells. Participation in student Spring and Winter concerts also expected.
Experience teaching music in a Waldorf setting is preferred. A BA in Music or Music Education or a related field is a highly desirable. Teaching experience at the Middle School level is required as are the following: skills for building collaborative experiences, excellent verbal and written communication skills, cultural competence, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of professional engagement. The compensation range for this position is currently $28.57 - $56.12/hour depending on qualifications.
