High School Humanities Teacher - Staring in August 2023
This is a .5FTE to 1 FTE exempt faculty position.

Summary:
San Francisco Waldorf High School seeks an enthusiastic and experienced Humanities Teacher with a background in history and social science and the ability to teach Anti-racism, World Literature, Cultural Studies and high-level reading and writing skills, depending on the candidate’s strengths.
Our ideal candidate is comfortable teaching all high school grade levels (9-12), excels at teaching to a wide range of student abilities, is highly organized and has sound classroom management and teaching strategies.
We are looking for someone who wants to join a Waldorf faculty and work in a highly collaborative environment. We are interested to learn what ideas the candidate might like to bring to the high school curriculum. Waldorf teacher training is preferred, but a strong candidate need only bring the willingness to learn about our approach and attend a training program within the first two years of employment.

San Francisco Waldorf School (SFWS) was founded in 1979 and serves more than 450 students across a parent-child program, a preschool program, kindergarten, and the first through twelfth grades. The high school campus is in the West Portal neighborhood.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Graduate degree preferrable
- Waldorf Teacher Training completed or in progress or willingness to begin a Waldorf Teacher Training program by the second year of employment with SFWS.
- Significant high school teaching and/or experience working with adolescents
Benefits and Compensation:
Benefits depend on FTE percentage and may include medical, dental, flexible spending plans, retirement plan (employer contributions after one year of employment), and tuition remission (prorated by FTE) for eligible dependents. The full FTE annual salary range is $60K - $85K depending on experience. It will be prorated based on less than full FTE. Salaries are paid on a 12-month schedule.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Be able to occasionally lift to 30 lbs.
- Work intermittently in outside weather conditions, including heat and cold
- Regularly sitting or standing 4-8 hours
