Foreign Language Teacher (.75 FTE)
Woodland Charter School is a public Waldorf charter school located in the beautiful Siskiyou Mountains in Grants Pass, Oregon. We currently serve grades 1 - 8 and will be adding a Kindergarten in the fall of 2023. We seek an experienced Foreign Language teacher to join our warm and dynamic faculty. We are a small community-oriented school of less than 200 students. Our public Waldorf curriculum includes Main Lesson, Handwork, PE, Gardening, Foreign Language and Music. Our campus consists of a thriving 19 acre ecosystem including a pond, several gardens, primitive play spaces and access to adjoining BLM land where we spend time outside in all types of weather.
We are seeking a competent, imaginative, and joyful Foreign Language teacher to join our collaborative faculty. The Foreign Language teacher is a .75 FTE position, working approximately 6 hours per day. Our school week is Monday - Thursday with some Friday work days scheduled throughout the year. The Foreign Language teacher will be working with students in grades 1 - 8, two days per week for about 45 minutes. Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably with an education-related major
- Oregon teaching license or commitment to enroll in a certification program
- Waldorf Teaching Certification or commitment to pursue Waldorf Education Professional Development
Highly Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience teaching Foreign Language in a public school / Waldorf school
- Native Speaker or Bilingual Certification
- Experience in developing and/or implementing curriculum for a foreign language program
