EARLY CHILDHOOD - ASSISTANT TEACHER

February 2023, Apple Blossom Waldorf School & Family Center, Wilton, CT

Apple Blossom Waldorf School & Family Center is seeking an Early Childhood assistant teacher for the 2023-24 school year. This is a part time, hourly position in our Nursery classroom with children ages 18 months-3 years. Our school is growing and there is room to grow professionally as well.

Skills   

Work with children one on one and in a small group

Be comfortable outdoors in almost any weather

Enjoy domestic activities such as preparing snacks, dish washing…

Be attentive to all areas involving the safety and well-being of the children

Be a quiet but active presence in the classroom

Radiate a joyful inner mood

Interest in working with children under the lead teachers guidance  

Re-direct parental questions to the lead teacher

Be open and receptive to suggestions 

Maintain confidentiality

Qualifications  

Experience working with children 

Bachelor’s degree

Warm and open disposition with the ability to lovingly care for children under 3 years of age

Eagerness to learn about Apple Blossom and Waldorf education

Waldorf training and experience preferred, but not required

Requirements 

To be able to lift and carry small children during caregiving times

To meet Connecticut OEC licensing requirements including yearly professional development

Pass a CT criminal background check
