Sunfield Farm and Waldorf School is seeking a Subject Teacher to join our faculty for the 2023-2024 School Year.
Qualifications
- A Waldorf teacher training certificate preferred
- 2+ years experience teaching
We are seeking candidates who are interested in a part-time position in one of the following - alternatively, a teacher that can instruct multiple subjects, would qualify for a full time position.
- Middle School Math
- World Language
- Instrumental Music / Strings
Sunfield has been on our land for over 17 years. We serve 154 children in preschool through 8th grade and expect a return to strong enrollment for the coming school year. Daily, children and teachers work with animals, plants, gardens, compost, walk and play on the land, and steward this magical place. Our dedicated faculty of 18 includes lead teachers, assistants and specialties instructors. Our faculty enjoy a strong colleagueship, deepening their work through Anthroposophy and a connection to the land and farm life. Sunfield maintains a committed and supportive administrative team that participates in the life of the school and farm.
Compensation
A part time position will be compensated at $21 per hour, with an hourly allocation for planning time. If there is interest in a full time position, salary will be determined by subject matter that can be offered.
Paid sick leave
Tuition remission for any enrolled children commensurate with FTE (.5 FTE = 50% off tuition base)

Sunfield Land for Learning encompasses a Waldorf school, Biodynamic farm and community education program. We are located on an 81-acre campus in Jefferson county on the beautiful Olympic Peninsula in Washington state. We are one of few Waldorf schools in the nation that is located on a working farm. Our farm includes a forest, wetland and agricultural fields. Sunfield is nestled between the Olympic mountains and the Puget Sound, just outside of Port Townsend, a vibrant Victorian seaport community.
