Waldorf Primary School Teacher - Benchen Monastery School - Volunteer
Over the past year, Abiding Heart's teacher training centre has been closely collaborating with Benchen Monastery school training their primary school teachers. Abiding Heart Education's approach is a fusion of Waldorf education and the contemplative Buddhist worldview and path.
Benchen School, a part of Benchen Monastery in Swayambhu, Nepal, is a school based in Pharping for more than 180 young monks. Together with the monastery we set up a kindergarten and class 1-3. Our aim is to continue to implement our Waldorf-Buddhist curriculum at Benchen up to class 8. In this way, we are working closely together with the monastery to provide these young children a healing, home from home, loving and caring Buddhist Waldorf education.
We are now looking for an experienced Waldorf teacher who would be interested in volunteering. The task is to work together with Abiding Heart and mentor the Benchen school teachers as they apply in their classroom the Waldorf-Buddhist curriculum Abiding Heart developed.
The Benchen teachers are attending the Abiding Heart's full time primary teacher training course and they need help in the classroom when they apply what they learned in the training.
The volunteer mentor will work closely with the Abiding Heart team and the Benchen school teachers and head teacher.
