Administrative Assistant
The Alliance for Public Waldorf Education is seeking a part-time assistant for general administrative support. Hours will be variable, depending on projects and the calendar of Alliance activity, and are expected to average 8-10 hours per week. The successful candidate will need to be available for regularly scheduled zoom or in-person meetings but will otherwise have the freedom to set their work schedule. This is a remote position; the possibility of in-person meetings with staff in Northern California is preferred but not essential.
We are seeking an individual with strong administrative and organizational skills to work with our Executive Director and Membership Director. This individual will be comfortable working collaboratively and independently and will bring their perspective and ideas. The successful candidate will enthusiastically support the mission of the Alliance and the strengthening and expansion of Public Waldorf education. Some knowledge of Waldorf education and experience of Waldorf schools is preferred.
Duties will include:
- Alliance communications: regular emails to members, responses to inquiries, referrals to other staff as needed, newsletters, updates, and reminders.
- Board support: maintain minutes from Board and Executive Committee, assist with record-keeping, agenda setting, committee support, and meetings.
- Alliance activities: support of the annual conference, summer professional development, and services to schools.
- Maintain and update website content.
- Create and maintain an annual calendar for the Alliance. Assist with scheduling meetings.
- Other administrative duties as needed.
Duties may include:
- Further development and build-out of the Alliance website.
- Support in developing a range of member services.
- Graphic design work to strengthen outreach and membership work.
- Billing and basic bookkeeping.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to proofread and edit.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a range of individuals by phone and email.
- Enthusiasm and flexibility.
- Proficient at working in Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
Salary Range:
This is a non-exempt, hourly position. It does not include benefits. Hourly salary range will be $22-28, determined by experience.
