The Mancos Valley Dragonfly School seeks a Parent/Child Teacher to join our faculty in the Fall 2023. The teacher will be responsible for creating and maintaining a beautiful, warm and nurturing Waldorf program for young children. We seek to offer two programs--one for children and their caregivers 4 months to walking, and the other program for children walking to 2 years old.  The program is designed to empower parents as their child's first teacher in these early years, and support them in developing healthy parenting skills, creating community, and educating parents about the value and benefits of Waldorf education for their child. The Parent/Child class is the bridge from home to school.

We seek someone who has knowledge of Waldorf education and proven capacities as a parent/child educator. A love of young children, a good understanding of the Waldorf pedagogy as it relates to the young child, and a demonstrated capacity to educate and work well with parents is required. We ask that this Parent/Child teacher work collaboratively within the school as a whole, which consists of Toddler Nursery, Preschool, and Kindergarten classes.

We seek to offer Parent and Child classes on Fridays and Saturdays, when the rest of school is not in session. There is flexibility in this schedule though.
