Classroom Teacher
SunRidge Charter School is now accepting applications for two class teachers. One position for fourth grade is available for an immediate start date and the other for first grade is for 2023-2024 school year. SunRidge is a Waldorf-inspired charter school serving 230+ students in grades K-8. The classes are supported by a classroom assistant. Our holistic, Waldorf curriculum provides specialty instructors for classes in Spanish, Games, Gardening, and Handwork.
Qualified Applicants must have a California Teaching Credential, or be enrolled in a credential program. Waldorf Certification, or being enrolled in an approved Waldorf certification program, is highly desirable.
We seek candidates who have an unqualified love of children, high academic standards, the ability to respect and engender the respect of students of all ages, the knowledge, skill, and enthusiasm to engage students of all temperaments and ability levels, and the interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with colleagues, administration, and parents. Strong skills in art, music, and/or drama are a major plus. Previous experience as a Waldorf class teacher in multiple grades is highly desired.
SunRidge School is located in the small town of Sebastopol, California. Sebastopol is one hour north of San Francisco, 20 minutes from the Pacific Ocean, in the coastal hills of beautiful, and progressive, Sonoma County. Our teachers are employees of the Twin Hills School District.
