May 18

The Waldorf School of Bend, located in beautiful Central Oregon, is seeking a part-time Pre-School Teacher for the 2023-24 school year. The Waldorf School of Bend was founded in 1995 and serves students from Preschool through 8th grade at our midtown campus. The school is a full member of WECAN and an associate member of AWSNA.

Our early childhood program, based in Waldorf pedagogy, focuses on preparing a simple, rhythmic schedule that supports the well being of the growing child. In creating a beautiful classroom space for the young child to play with ease, the rhythm supports daily learning. This offers a secure, healthy, and nurturing environment for children.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated abilities and experience working with young children and their families. They will be intuitive, demonstrate flexible thinking, possess strong classroom management skills, and work collaboratively with their colleagues. They will also have a deep appreciation for developing their parent community through parent meetings, class offerings, and support through the developmental milestones of childhood. Most importantly, they will have a love for the wonder of early childhood and a determination to preserve it for children.

Prior training and knowledge of Waldorf Education are preferred, with the expectation that hired candidates will continue to attend professional development opportunities to deepen their understanding of Waldorf education. Candidates must be Teacher Qualified in the Oregon Early Learning Division Central Background Registry, or have the ability to do so prior to the position start. We’re happy to assist in this process.

Our competitive salary is dependent upon education and experience. An average salary ranges between $38,000 and $50,000 for our lead teachers, with additional benefits offered including full premium-paid health, vision, and dental insurance, tuition remission, paid time off, mentoring, and funding for professional development opportunities.

In return for your commitment and your time, you will be welcomed into a community filled with joy, inspiration and enthusiasm. We are well supported by an active Board of Directors and a creative, committed, and generous parent community.
