High School (HS) Humanities Teacher

The Waldorf School of San Diego (WSSD) is seeking a positive and committed HS Humanities Teacher to join our loving and dedicated HS team. The HS Humanities teacher is responsible for preparing lesson plans and educating students. The duties include assigning homework, grading tests, and documenting progress. The HS Humanities teacher must be able to command their classroom and reach students with an engaging project-based curriculum. The HS Humanities teacher is responsible for creating and maintaining a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential and accomplish the learning goals of humanities.

We are looking for someone who is responsible and loving to nurture and care for the social, emotional, and physical needs of the children. If you have an understanding of Waldorf education, good communication skills with parents and other teachers, experience working with children in a similar environment and competence in completing weekly billing paperwork, you may be the one to join our community.  This is a full-time position for approximately 33.8 weeks a year.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and commitment to fulfill Waldorf Teacher training to begin by the third year of employment if not certified Waldorf Teacher.
  • Prior teaching experience highly preferred.
  • Specialized training in teaching secondary school-aged children is preferred.
  • First Aid Training, CPR Training (WSSD offers these trainings)

Salary range:

$54,006 – $63,306 annuallly

Availability: Start date August 2023
