[Priority Listing] Lead Kindergarten Teacher
Potomac Crescent Waldorf School is seeking a lead five-day kindergarten teacher for the 2023-2024 school year to join our dedicated faculty and community at our newly renovated Waldorf school in historic Old Town Alexandria. The parks in our neighborhood have beautiful views of the Potomac River.
Our unique salary and governance structure values all teachers and includes competitive salaries. We award additional pay to recognize completion of Waldorf teacher training certification and Waldorf teaching experience. We also offer strong mentoring support for new lead teachers, and we support engagement in Waldorf conferences and professional development opportunities as much as possible. Our early childhood teachers are a strong part of our faculty circle and participate in weekly full faculty meetings and early childhood meetings. We value pedagogical study and shared artistic work in both groups.
Ideal candidates will have a confident classroom presence with strong social and communication skills, the ability to work cooperatively with other teachers, and a love for children and teaching. We are seeking candidates who have completed Waldorf Early Childhood training at a teacher preparation program or have great potential to succeed in this position and are receptive to mentoring and future training. This position is exempt.
